Green
I've been holding onto this vintage retro fabric since a friend gave it to me. I love it. Today,whilst doing some major Spring Cleaning (two rooms done so far), I decided that the chair in the bathroom needed reupholstering (as you do) and not one to hang around once an idea pops into my head I revamped the chair...so here it is! (I love how the white stripe suggests where you can place your sitting bones!)
'Piece of Quiet'
Iris came home from school and announced that she was going to have a 'piece of quiet' so took herself off upstairs armed with 'cinderella' book, mobile phone (just in case the office phoned perhaps?) and a pair of sunglasses (optimistic). I thought i'd better check up on her and just had to take this shot of messy post school hair and chin in hands, elbows well and truly on the table!

Testing The Echo
I went to see an amazing play last night by David Edgar, directed by Matthew Dunster, at the Warwick Arts Centre called Testing The Echo. My friend Rajere (who incidently will be in A Touch of Frost very soon playing a woman who has a phobia of clowns!) knows a couple of the actors Robert Gwilym (Dr Max Gallagher in Casualty 10 years or so ago - I had a bit of a 'sexy older man' thing about him back then) and Kirsty Bushell and got comps so dragged me out (thanks Rajere) and i'm really pleased she did.If you want to know more about it click the link.

Faeries in our tree
When Ophelia (my 10 year old) was 1 I made a paper faerie for our Christmas tree.Every year since then I have made new faeries (they have evolved somewhat) and over the past 5 years have been selling them at Christmas fairs and giving them away as birthday gifts to various little friends.My daughters have faeries hanging above their beds (their guardian angels!).As I write this 2 of my faeries are travelling across the world to make their home in Sunny California!
The faerie in our tree was finished this afternoon and has already sold but I thought i'd blog about her because I am making more... and will be listing them at Etsy over the next few days.
She is made from the most gorgeous Japanese linen bought from lin-net.com .
Stuffed with organic stuffing wool from myriad. Her wings are made from mother of pearl and vintage buttons (each faerie is unique) strung onto wire...and her legs from embroidery beads.
I hand painted her sweet face with acrylic paints and her hair is made with faerie dust (glitter!)...

Life
This morning, like every school run morning, was hectic.We got to School 3 minutes after the bell had gone. Usually this wouldn't have been a problem but today the Headmistress was at the door and we had to sign the 'Late Book'...which I have never had to sign before may I add...in the 'Late Book' you have to give a reason for said lateness.I couldn't think of one reason, there were too many (Iris wanted curly hair so i had remove the plaits i'd done last night, then Ophelia was chilling with her Nintendo DS instead of getting herself ready and her P.E kit packed (you get the picture? ), I stayed up till 2am and didn't manage to remove myself from the warm bed till 8am etc etc) so I simplified it and wrote 'LIFE' : )
I wonder if the headmistress actually reads the 'Late Book'.......

ARTs desire

This morning I found an old journal from 2005 which had hardly anything written in it. I bought it because it looked nice but didn't even use it. Anyway I was thinking to myself that it would make a good sketch book...

Heart
I am so excited to see that this little sequined Heart is off to the USA first thing tomorrow! I've had 4 sales at Etsy in 2 weeks, my first Treasury made it onto the front page and 72 people heart my shop. Life is good! : ) I have a cold but thats ok!
Luna
I'm forever shrinking jumpers through carelessness...so its just as well I can cut and sew! Luna arrived in our house in the early hours of this morning.She is made from my orange DKNY jumper and fuchsia pink corduroy (on the back) stuffed with organic wool (absolutely never synthetic stuffing). Luna has a wooden heart.We love Luna and soon there will be lots of Luna and Luno's in my Etsy shop.

70's child
Recently I've realised that I like red and yellow...together. Not because I find them aesthetically pleasing (like red and pink for example) but because they remind me of my early childhood .I am, of course, a child of the 70's. I lived in those colours.
I'm loving Red + Yellow + Dark Brown.
...and tomorrow morning my children will be loving their very grumpy mother...2:37 am!

True Blue
It's cold and rainy...and Luno arrived in our house this weekend. Luno (as named by Iris aged 4 and a half) is going to have to live with us.I've been informed (by O, my 10 going on 14 year old) that he cannot be sold in my Etsy shop.This happens quite regularly when I make something new in our house.Iris has 3 rabbits amongst other things, O has a 'bingaloo' and a rabbit and now Luno...I'll make more...and Iris will want to keep the pink one...

Last week I curated my first Etsy Treasury...and I made it to the front page! Very addictive. I've always fancied being a buyer/stylist choosing nice things with other peoples money...perfect job...anyway I chose life instead!
