Ratty
I made a new rat last night. She is stuffed with organic wool and made from linen and dotty pink cotton.Even O loves her and wants to keep her (O is my biggest fan and she doesn't even like pink) but ratty is destined for my Etsy shop.Especially after my online purchase this morning! I bought myself a ring flash for my camera. I've been doing a lot of headshot portraits for actors lately (2 next week) and can't wait to try out this flash ...my next victim is my friend Sam Troughton (plays Much in the Robin Hood TV series).

work in progress
My daughters are really loving all things Beatrix Potter at the moment. We have the Royal Ballet Tales of Beatrix Potter DVD and Iris thinks its wonderful. Especially the bit where they tell the tale of The Two Bad Mice. She thinks its very funny. It inspired me to make a doll like Lucinda and Jane, the dolls who lived in the house raided by the two bad mice. i'll be making others to go into my etsy shop. This one wears a beautiful Liberty print dress.
Also i've nearly finished hand quilting my very first attempt at a baby quilt.I'm pleased with it but i think i'll be mainly machine quilting the next one!!!

Oh Dear!
So today was 'bring the pet fish home' day. After one week of staring at an empty tank, whilst we got it ready, they were so excited. Iris wanted the red fish and had named her Ruby Red but Ophelia had asked for the blue fish first, and the red fish blue fish can't live together so Iris chose this fish and was happy to call her Ruby Red anyway...(see photo)...ermmmmm Ruby Red looks pretty dead. We will have to fish her out, pretend she has hidden in the hidey hole, and tomorrow I will return to the shop and try to find a near identical Ruby Red.BRILLIANT!

Treacle Shop
I LOVE Treacle...and the shop assistants are nicer, more helpful and less snooty than at Treacle's sister shop Vinegar Hill.I went in for a little browse this afternoon with Iris and we came away with a fairy lunch bag and a free lollipop. On hearing Iris announce to me that she will give it to her sister (she was after an ice-cream and wasn't about to jeopardise getting one by eating a lolly instead!) the shop assistant very kindly popped a second one into our paper bag!
I have a shopping problem
I found these summer dresses at Marc Jacobs and I LOVE them. I have a huge stash of Liberty fabrics (everytime I go into my local fabric shop I need to buy the tana lawn just in case they sell out of that particular print!) so I was searching for some inspiration and I found it at Marc Jacobs. I see a sewing project on the horizon...but first I need to finish the baby quilt I am working on...
