Just Brilliant

I love my mum...but sometimes she plants these little seeds in the heads of my children.Like today whilst we were visiting the local Garden Centre.I thought I'd sneak a few shots of the aquarium section. So off we went to have a little look. Mum decided that the children NEED a pet each.I love animals but don't want to encourage caging.I'd like a dog but I enjoy my freedom too much, also I would heave everytime i would have to pick up the pooh (both my children were out of nappies by the time they were 18months for this very reason).Anyway to cut a long story short tomorrow we are going pack to purchase a tank and two fish. One of which has already been named Bubble Billy Jean Blue...no prizes for guessing which child is having that fish! : )

The Offering

The Offering, originally uploaded by colourspace.

There's a competition I want to enter to win a better camera. The category is food and wanting to submit something different I decided to go back to basics.I have a few 'more traditional' food shots but I think this one might get noticed more...?

Easter Chocolate Nests

This is turning into a bit of a 'cookery' blog lately.

middle of the night

I altered the recipe (see below) to half plain flour half malted brown and a little extra honey, minus the cinnamon. Its the best bread i've ever tasted! Just the right amount of crispiness soft and fluffy on the inside.so quick and easy to make, even in the middle of the night...baking is good for the soul.
Now for Day 2 of the Easter Holidays...

I like to bake

Getting really RESTLESS lately so instead of doing my sewing or the housework (which is piling up) I baked bread today and it is surprisingly good. get the recipe here
I made two loaves. One (see above) I left plain, and the other I added raisins and rosemary before the second rising. I also made pizza dough. and Bossk Brownies : ) from my Star Wars Cookbook.

wedding dress

my favourite toy is the polaroid 600SE. some of my best shots were taken with this camera. this is one of a series taken this morning. now i need more film...several shots were wasted because i forgot to remove the dark slide, a couple over exposed etc but the one good polaroid shot you get from a pack of pola film makes up for all the messed up ones. I LOVE POLAROID. you never know what you're going to get.

I LOVE THESE SHOES

Dressed Herself

Tomorrow being World Book Day we went to a 'book swap' party at our neighbours house after school. The children were to dress up as one of their favourite characters from a book, and to bring along a book to swap.Iris went as Belle from Beauty & The Beast. But O is a law unto herself...
Tomorrow they are going to school in their pyjamas with many layers underneath as it is cold here, they did suggest going to bed in the layers so that they wouldn't have to get changed in the morning! (like their thinking but I won that battle!)
